Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP)
Description:
|
The Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) in the East Harlem Community, is the first Latina bilingual/bicultural community based domestic violence program in New York State. We are committed to ending violence in the lives of women and their children and any manner of oppression that disproportionately renders women and children vulnerable to various forms of violence. Our unique approach and understanding of violence comes from our life experiences as women who have survived various forms of oppression. We view our role as a bridge to bring survivors of domestic violence and Latino communities together for a common mission of eliminating violence.
Through public education, direct services, advocacy, technical assistance and coalition building, VIP reaches out to diverse communities on a local, state and national level.
