Violence Intervention and Prevention (VIP) Center
Description:
This Dallas center, the Parkland Health & Hospital System, provides an
array of services to victims of intimate partner violence and assault.
Among these services are the following: * rapid response intervention
24 hours a day / 7 days a week * an in-depth medical examination and
treatment of your immediate health needs * psychological assessment
and counseling * official and confidential documentation * legal
assistance with offense reports or protective orders * preparation of
your safety plan and coordination with shelters and other social
service agencies * case management to determine and achieve your goals
"The VIP Center is staffed by a compassionate, knowledgeable team of
professionals committed to your safety and well-being." You may call
(214) 590-2926 to schedule an appointment Monday through Friday, from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you are in an emergency situation and need
immediate care for your injuries, call 911 or go directly to the
Parkland Emergency Department. If you have immediate need for safety,
call (214) 590-8000, press zero for the page operator and ask for the
VIP Center case worker. "We are currently working in conjunction with
the Gay/Lesbian Resource Center of Dallas and the Family Place
Shelter."
