A lot has changed over the course of the last several episodes of Game of Thrones. Joffrey is dead—and good riddance—leaving his much kinder little bro, Tommen, to take the reigns in King’s Landing. While Tommen should be a much more stable ruler than Joffrey, he is still a child, and the crown has been left rather unprotected. Over in Slaver’s Bay, Daenerys has settled into a life of rule in Meereen after determining her conquests elsewhere were for naught and slavery has been reinstituted in several cases. While those two sticking points don’t seem as if they will be changing in the near future, the brand new preview for Game of Thrones’ Episode 6, “The Laws of God and Men,” does show a lot of upheaval in Westeros and beyond.

Most importantly, we’re finally getting to see Yara Greyjoy attempt to make good on her promise to rescue her brother, Theon, from the clutches of Ramsay Snow. In George R. R. Martin’s books, Theon goes from being an annoying character to one readers should feel sorry for, thanks to his horrifying transformation by Ramsey, which is told through several POV chapters. We haven’t seen a ton from Ramsay and Theon this season, which I think has dampened the effect on audiences of what Theon has gone through and where he is mind is at. Next week, it seems as if the plotline will be front and center and we’ll be getting a full dose of the psycho Ramsay and his battle with the tough-willed Yara.

You have to get through nearly the entire thirty-second preview before Tyrion pops up. Everyone’s favorite character was missing from this week’s episode, likely since he is sitting in a jail cell with naught to do but wait for visitors. Next week’s Game of Thrones episode will offer the man plenty of people to engage with, however. His trial will commence next week, and we’ll see what kind of parade Cersei orchestrates from the sidelines, despite the fact that Joffrey’s death was a frame job. With his father and Oberyn Martell on the judging panel and no character witnesses, it seems pretty clear that Tyrion is in trouble. We’ll just have to wait and see how much.

It seems as if Game of Thrones premiered its fourth season only yesterday, but hard to believe or not, we are well into the latter half of the season already. With only a few more episodes slated to hit the schedule this season, many character’s fates and destinies at this point are murky. Here’s hoping the final three episodes clear a few things up before leaving us on a cliffhanger for Season 5. In the meantime, you can catch new episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
